Piecing and applique for this interesting block. You can get the pattern now at The Splendid Sampler.
I used a turn edge technique similar to this Apliquick Tools Video by Lynette Anderson. There are a bunch of YouTube videos showing how to use the Apliquick tools. I didn’t exactly use the Apliquick Tools but they are on my wish list. I used these seafood forks/picks. They work pretty well in the process. I glued down the pieces and then proceeded to quilt it.
Here’s how I quilted it:
- Blanket stitched around the applique pieces using the I foot on my Juki Exceed F600
- Using the open-toe free motion quilting foot, stitched wandering clover around the flower.
- Stitch the border design like the other blocks.
Background fabric is a bit busy and takes away from the quilting I think, but you can get the idea.
Until Next Time!
