I decided on lots of straight line quilting and find it is so much easier to use the ruler foot as a guide while stitching. No need to mark the lines when I do it this way. I use small discs cut from template plastic around the foot for different distances from the needle. I didn’t take any photos using them on this particular block, but you can see the discs in use here.
Here’s how I quilted Traveler using my ruler presser foot:
- Marked and stitched the flower petals in the center square as a focal point.
- Stitched in the ditch around the center square.
- Stitched straight lines using the foot only as a measuring guide in the blue squares.
- Stitched straight lines using the foot with the small disc as a measuring guide in the green sections.
- Stitched the border design like the other blocks.
Until Next Time!
