Block 95 Sunshine

img_1454

Very scrappy simply pieced block. I used all different color scraps that were left over from other blocks for this one. The piecing is 4-patches and half rectangle unit. Simple but pretty. Sadly, the Splendid Sampler patterns are no longer available for free, but you can preorder the book that contains all of the patterns. If you haven’t started your blocks yet, it is not too late. It looks like they will be starting a new quilt-a-long again in May after the books ship!

Here’s how I quilted it:

  • Pearls in the squares of the 4-patches.
  • 3-straight lines in each of the rectangles furthest from the center
  • 7-straight lines in each of the rectangles closest to the center
  • Stitch the border design like the other blocks.
