Block 21 – Sweet Candy

Nice straight forward piecing in this block, but I love the effect. And for those of you who don’t know me I am definitely a candy addict so this block is perfect!

First 20 Blocks – What a Ride!

Wow! When I look at these all together it reminds me of all the new techniques I have tried and enjoyed. It has been so much fun!

Block 20 -Nature’s Walk

Here it is – Applique and Free Motion Machine Embroidery! This one took quite a few hours and quite a few different steps. It was worth it since I like the results.

Block 19 – Measure Twice, Cut Once

It was difficult to decide how to quilt and embroider this block. I wanted to put the numbers and writing on it without it being backwards on the back.

Block 18 – Lina’s Gift

This is the first basket block I have ever made. It is a simple construction and the pieces were not teeny tiny. It went together easily. 

2016 Finish-A-Long Q2 Goals

I have decided to participate in the 2016 Finish-A-Long. It certainly can’t hurt to try to get some projects done that I have been wanting to finish.

Project #1 – Building Blocks Sampler Quilt

I’ve been working on this one for a while. Pattern and tutorials are available at Leah Day’s website. Here is my progress so far:

• Building Blocks Sampler
• Building Blocks – Rail Fence
• Rail Fence Quilting
• Cheater Drunkard Path
• Building Blocks – Pinwheels

I really want to get this one done since it will be a gift for someone.

Project #2 – Peg Legs

I actually have the fabric cut for these; I just need to sew them up. Peg Leg pattern is available at Patterns for Pirates. They have tips available on the P4P Blog – it includes information on how to get a promo code for the pattern! These will be for me. Fabric is from Joann’s Red Tag Fabrics.

Project #3 – SOS Knit Pants

This black stretch denim is the fabric I plan on using with the SOS Knit Pants Pattern from Patterns for Pirates. I plan on doing the straight leg option.

Hoping I can all three projects completed in the next three months!

I have been working on the Building Blocks Quilt Along by Leah Day. This size block is a good size to piece and to quilt. The pinwheels went together very easy as half square triangles put together as a four patch. 

Block 16 – Pieces of Friendship

My favorite block to quilt so far! This block was a breeze to piece so I decided to spend a little more time on the quilting.

Block 15 – Family Affair

I love to paper piece! This was a bit challenging since the pieces are so small, but it turned out well (not perfect, but close enough for me).
